About the project
LOCKLINEA young indo couple goes to Indonesia for the very first time. For him it's just a holiday, for her it will become a home, she never wants to leave.

Synopsis

Perjalanan, which means "the journey" is a short drama of 15 minutes.

It's about two Indo's (Eurasians) who will visit the country of their ancestors, Indonesia. John and Dewi are in a relationship of more than three years. Both have their own ideas and expectations about the country. Dewi wants to go and visit her relatives in Indonesia, ever since her mother passed away, six years ago. John, on the other hand, wants to go sightseeing, and come face to face with all the things he heard so much about. But most of all he wants to enjoy the holidays. Eventually it will be a search of their own identity.

Motivation

With this project we want to tell a story that is about the group from the Netherlands of which you don’t hear a lot about: The people of Indonesian origin. Especially about the generation of today little is heard .The first trip to Indonesia is for many an important moment in their lives. This film will be realized with the collaboration of people who have an affinity Indonesia and with people from Indonesia. The project will become a bridge between the Netherlands and Indonesia in the field of film and culture.

Goal:

The short film Perjalanan is the first step. But we want more. Our ultimate goal is a full feature film. For this we use the short film. The shooting will take place in Indonesia.

So help us realize this story, then I'm going to say: Terima Kasih or Thank you.

Quote that inspired the maker

That's why I want to talk about Indonesians in The Netherlands. Because not much is said about them. It usually is about Turkish, Moroccan, Antillian people and other minorities.
