ABOUT THE MAKER
After six years of studying psychology and learning the skills of psychological research, I left my analyzing life by choice and became a model. The years that followed were intense, but not mearly because of the intensity of the fashion industry itself. A certain part of me was suddenly fully exposed. I grew up in a small town in the North of Holland, in a Dutch family. At a certain moment I started to focus on aesthetics and perfection. How this evolved and how it still functions is where the foundation of the documentary lays.
The aim of the film is not to tell my story, but a story of many others. I can't wait to start the production and combine importance with my drive and passion for psychological research, art and film. This story has to be told. Like me there are many others that struggle with appearance and perfection: young boys and girls, men and women, adults and so many subcategories (yes, like models). We love to look at extremes, but what lays in between is what we miss. While in fact, that is what we all have to deal with. We seem to be so afraid to take a look in the normal. Let's help eachother. I will do everything I can both personally and professionally, to give it the spotlight it needs -just to speak in appropriate terms.
In Amsterdam I work with a small production team.
