Photography Exhibition & Film Screening tonight in Amsterdam
Welcome to Our American Rodeo y’all!
Last summer, Doug Hancock and Christopher Pugmire went on an epic road trip with legendary NPRA bull rider Robert Mims. Robert is a three-times senior pro champion, still riding bulls at the age of 55.
Doug's film, Robert Mims - the Texan Bull Rider paints a picture of the rituals and rhythms that underpin the cowboy way of life on the Texas, New Mexico and Utah - picturesque landscapes that provide a beautiful contrast to the kinetic energy of the bull.
Alongside the screening, Christopher will exhibit some of the images he captured during shooting. A breathtaking collection that brings to life the unique world of the American rodeo.
This work has been featured in a host of American film festivals, and on NOWNESS and VICE.
Prints will be for sale, with all proceeds going towards funding Doug's new film, currently in development Our American Rodeo - a documentary feature film about the unseen Native American rodeo riders on reservations in the deserts of Utah, the badlands of South Dakota, up to the rocky mountains of Montana.
When: Friday 7 September
Doors open at 18:00. As space is limited, the film will be shown in three screenings at 19.00, 20:00 and 21:00, followed by a short talk from Director Doug Hancock.
